Found this great tool on TechRepublic and as I always value their opinion and recommendations I decided to give it a try. Registry bloat is a leading cause of a slow unresponsive system. Finding a quality tool that properly analyses and is capable of cleaning the registry without causing other problems is not as easy as one might think. I am very cautious about using programs that can cause my computer to become a brick in an attempt to make it run better. Before I knew what the registry was I tried quite a few of these types of programs and found myself spending a long weekend rebuilding my system because the software bricked my computer.

So with the recommendation coming from a highly trusted source I knew I would be testing a program that at the very least would not crash my system. I downloaded and ran Registry Cleaner Free Version to see what it would do for me. I first ran a few of the other registry cleaners I have come to rely on in the past. After all if the program can not fix something that I know can be fixed with what I already have. Then it really isn't worth paying for.

I ran Registry Cleaner Free Version and although it only was able to fix 5 of my problems. I was surprised that it in fact found 492 keys that should have been caught by one of my other programs. The only negative about the software is the free version will only fix 5 problem keys. I would have been able to give a more accurate review to the power of this tool if it would have at least given me a time limit before it either shut down or limited the amount of problems it fixed. I did run the test a few times and was able to confirm the 5 errors it said it would fix did in fact get fixed.

I am considering purchasing this software but based on the fact I cannot confirm all the problems Registry Cleaner Free Version finds and fixes will not brick my system. I will have to consider it and update this post if I do purchase it and can verify the accuracy of the software. Even though the review on TechRepublic is from a trusted source I still do not shell out my money based only on their findings.
